Isn’t a gas leak detector the same thing as a smoke detector?
Not really. A smoke detector activates when it detects smoke within its environment. A gas leak detector, activates when it detects a low or high amount of gas in its environment.
How does a gas leak detector work?
Gas leak detectors look out for signs of abnormally high amounts of gas in an environment using a threshold system as a point of comparison. If the gas leak detector detects that the level of gas in the environment exceeds the minimum threshold amount, it will trip an alarm to bring attention to this fact, warning people in the area of potentially hazardous levels of gas in their environment.
